Ixtapa Pacific MÉXICO

I love this Club Med. The only other location I’ve been is Cancun, but the vibe here is just incredible. It’s a great mix of relaxation and fun. Your day can be as busy or as low key as you want to make it. The village is small and the GOs do a fantastic job making you feel welcome and appreciated, and they are so much fun to hang out with. May is a great time of year to go if you don’t mind the heat because there are so few GMs that it starts to feel like a little family after a few days. I will be back.

I'm a dedicated Club Med fan, this being my (est.) 19th trip in 43 years. You can spend more for resorts that have linen table clothes and fancier amenities, but you'll never find a friendlier staff or a better cost/benefit trade-off. Meal highlights this trip included Beef Wellington and Chicken Cordon Bleu. We dined often with staff and had meaningful conversations - not just pleasantries. CM is not trying to be a fancy environment - instead it's a chill vibe (with lots of sports for those that want it), and people you'd be glad to have as family members.

Fan that I am, I'm not afraid to call them out when things don't measure up, and they're not afraid to fix what needs fixing. Once I tore them down about toilets that couldn't flush In Cancun (a very expensive matter to fix), and the next time I was there it was all resolved. The last two clubs I've been to (Ixtapa and Punta Cana) both had intermittent problems with "cleaned" but not clean plates in the dining room. That is, they looked clean, but often felt gritty from a superficial cleaning in the kitchen. This trip I mentioned it to management, and it was mostly resolved. I've suggested to CM that this is an ongoing issue (I suspect low-paid temporary staff doing a superficial job), and recommended that they institute regular spot checks. I have confidence that they'll address it.

Would I go again? We're already planning our next trip.

Our family vacation at Club Med Ixtapa was excellent - the resort has a very nice beach area and is quite compact with all activities in close proximity. Food was very good, and the GOs were very professional and kind. Even when we had a few days with very few guests in the resort, the GOs still ensured each activity occurred, even if they had only one guest attending. A particular shout out to Manuela and Candela who did yoga and wellness, Luna at racquet sports, Paulo at sailing, Gerardo with fitness! The physical facilities are definitely do for a refresh, but overall we had a great vacation !

This is our 2nd trip to Ixtapa, 5th Club Med trip. The location and beach at Ixtapa is our favorite. It really is a stunning setting on the Pacific Ocean. The GOs at Ixtapa were outstanding--friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. The Chief of Village (Daniel) was always present and always interacting with GMs. Out of our 5 trips, he is the ONLY Chief that I recall. He is a great ambassador. Other GMs that deserve recognition-- Nicole, Izzy, Cooper, Gerardo (2 of them), Candela, Jersey, and Ceci. Each of them was enthusiastic and kind-- to my wife and I, and especially my children. They are assets to the Club Med brand, and examples of why my family repeatedly chooses to visit. The negatives are the hard product. Our room in Jadaro needed a severe remodel. The fit and finish in the bathroom was very disappointing. The food and beverages, including the staff, were underwhelming. Inconsistent quality at every bar. The service for dinner at Miramar was unprofessional and chaotic. Staff was more attentive to local nationals.
